Meet the Team

Mark & Lea Mallett

Mark Mallett is a former award-winning journalist turned Catholic singer/songwriter and evangelist. He is the author of The Now Word and co-founder and co-host of Countdown to the Kingdom. After moving back to Alberta, Mark sensed the Lord calling forth a new ministry... new wine in a new wineskin. After a year and a half of discernment with Bishop Gary Franken, with his spiritual director, and a wonderful group of individuals with a heart for Christ, Novum was launched. Mark's wife, Lea, has been an integral and "harmonious" part of their ministry together — literally — both as a backup singer as well as putting her graphic design skills to work behind Mark's websites and albums.

Together, they have 8 children and live in Northern, Alberta, Canada.

Joey & Stephanie Leroux

Stephanie Leroux (formerly Koch) has been singing since she was about four years old, has written over a hundred songs, has recorded two CD’s, and has put on numerous concerts througout Canada. She’s always had a passion for doing ministry, especially with the youth. She has been part of countless music and prayer ministries in all kinds of venues, communities, and capacities over the years, including as dorm mom at John Paul II Bible School in Radway for a year. She joined the Servants of the Cross in Ottawa for six years, and always an active part of her parish music ministry.

Joey Leroux has also been doing music since he was a wee lad, focusing largely on musical theory and the piano.  Developing over several decades through music ministries in many parishes with various singers and groups, numerous weddings, and writing multi-part choral and instrumental pieces, music has become his preferred form of prayer, and he uses it to speak of all aspects of God’s presence and His love for us beyond what words can say.

In the over eight years of their marriage, Joey & Stephanie have seldom been away from some form of music ministry for long, and hope their children will one day join them in this.
